Dr. Shuchin Shukla brings extensive clinical expertise in addiction medicine and innovative healthcare delivery to his role as Chief Medical Officer at Goldie Health. His distinguished career spans primary care, addiction treatment, and public health initiatives, with a particular focus on developing innovative solutions for substance use disorder treatment and overdose prevention.
Prior to joining Goldie Health, Dr. Shukla served as Clinical Director of Health Integration at Mountain Area Health Education Center (MAHEC) in Asheville, wherehe spearheaded the groundbreaking Buncombe Bridge 2 Care program. This innovative paramedic-initiated buprenorphine program has successfully initiated treatment for over 450 individuals, demonstrating his commitment to expanding access to life-saving addiction treatment.
A graduate of Tulane University School of Medicine and School of Public Health, Dr.Shukla completed his residency at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx. His early career included serving as medical director for Montefiore Project INSPIRE, where he developed expertise in Hepatitis C treatment programs. Currently, he continues his clinical work at Julian F. Keith Alcohol and Drug Addiction Treatment Center while contributing to digital innovation projects at the University of North Carolina focused on addressing the opioid epidemic.
Dr. Shukla maintains an active role in community health initiatives, serving as a consultant for Buncombe County's overdose prevention efforts and providing technical assistance for programs supporting communities affected by substance use and criminal justice involvement.
